This article introduces the magical blend feature in Midjourney, which helps users achieve unique blending effects in AI art creation and opens up new dimensions of creativity.
The/blend feature of Midjourney has been in existence for some time now. But it seems that there are few tutorials online introducing this feature, but to be honest, besides doing some preliminary tests, I rarely use it either.
How to use/blend?
Firstly, simply type/blend in the Discord chat field:

Now press’ Enter ‘. This will open a dialog box:

Here, you can upload two to five images to be mixed together.
You can also specify the size, but this is optional. By default, the blended image will be square. If your goal is a specific aspect ratio, you can request square (1:1), vertical (2:3), or horizontal (3:2) images.

I mixed two pictures here

The effect is as follows ..

What are the practical application scenarios of Midjourney/blend
- Imagine someone in a movie character
If you are a casting director, you may want to imagine an actor as one of your characters before contacting them.
I hope you have a great imagination. But if not,/blend can provide assistance.
Assuming you are considering having Brad Pitt play the role of Achilles in your epic movie about Troy.
You can generate an image of Achilles in Midjourney and mix it with Brad Pitt’s avatar:
This may give you some understanding of whether he is suitable for this role:
The effect is not very good ..
Of course, for someone as famous as Brad Pitt, it’s best to imagine the prompt directly to Midjourney:
Brad Pitt as Achilles, cinematic movie still
There may be better results:
But for those who are not represented in Midjourney’s training data, the/blend command is a viable alternative.
- Virtual makeup test
You can also use/blend to learn how different clothing styles fit you.
What I need to do is mix these with the facial photos above. If you don’t look at them carefully, they will still be quite restored
The above are some usage methods and scenarios of/blend. Although it has good effects, the opportunities for use are relatively limited due to its lack of controllability. Midjourney also has better functions to achieve its application scenarios, but as creative inspiration, it often has good effects.
